Interviews

Manchester’s first outdoor film series would not be possible without our sponsors.  We will feature an interview with each of them on this blog!

This week we spoke with Gregg Mazzola, Director of Marketing and Communications at Southern New Hampshire University

Q. Gregg- Give us the highlights of SNHU?

A. SNHU has  1,900 undergraduate students from more than 23 states and more than 35 different countries. 80 percent of undergraduate students live on campus. 1,800 graduate students, and 2,700 continuing education students.

SNHU offers more than 75 undergraduate and 40 graduate degree programs in businesseducation, hospitality, liberal arts and community economic development. Many programs are available online; still more are offered evenings and weekends on location. All courses are taught by accomplished faculty.

Outside of class, you’ll have access to all the resources you need – such as excellent career development services and an outstanding library.  Wherever you want to go, we’ll help you get there.

More than 130 full-time faculty bring extensive academic, work, travel and life experience to their classroom teaching. SNHU faculty are committed to doing more, learning more, and caring more than they have to!

Q.  DOES SNHU HAVE A PARTICULAR PHILOSOPHY ON COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT?
A. For more than 75 years, SNHU has been an integral part of the Manchester community and it is proud to be part of the Summer Movies Series at Veterans Park. Education is a transformative experience and having the opportunity to serve our undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students from the around the state has been a great honor.

The Movie Series is a wonderful opportunity to bring families together for a fun event and we’re proud to be a sponsor.

Q.  WE CAN NOT THINK OF A UNIVERSITY THAT IS “MORE EVERYWHERE” THAN SNHU.  YOU HAVE ONLINE, ON CAMPUS, AND ON LOCATION CLASSES.     TELL US ABOUT THAT, AND WHAT OTHER EXPANSIONS SNHU IS UP TO?

A. Our goal is to provide a convenient learning experience. Regardless of where you live or how demanding your work schedule might be, we will provide the vehicle to help you earn a degree.

Q.  MANCHESTER HAS REALLY TURNED INTO A COLLEGE TOWN, IS ALL THIS COMPETITION GOOD FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS?

A. Manchester is certainly a growing college town and we embrace the other institutions that make up the college experience. Students have more cultural opportunities than ever to enjoy and many within a short car or bus ride.

Q. WHAT DOES SNHU LOVE ABOUT MANCHESTER?

A. Manchester is a wonderfully diverse experience. From the many languages spoken in town to the wide variety of restaurants, cultural options and proximity to mountains, beaches and cities to the south. It provides a terrific overall experience.

Q. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE, WHY?

A. Wow, as a huge movie fan picking one is a real challenge. Godfather 2 represents everything I like in a great movie. First, it’s a terrific story line set in one of my favorite eras in New York. Plus the soundtrack is amazing. It’s hard to think of another movie with so many young rising stars: Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino, Robert Duvall, James Caan, Diane Keaton, Talia Shire, Bruno Kirby and of course a more seasoned Marlon Brando. It’s easy as an Italian-American who grew up in a large family to appreciate the many family dynamics. I enjoy it more each time I see it.
